No More Selling Cars

Image via Flickr by Massachusetts Dept. of Environmental Protection

The irony continued but it stops here. Attempting to sell plug-in cars ruined me as an electric car advocate. Tonight, I'm only dropping a short post. More to come later about what I learned in 8 months as an attempted car salesman.

I'm back in the restaurant business and coming back to life again. You probably heard Eighty Six the Poet was dead, but he's been defibrillated.

I did learn a lot about the BMW i3, both PHEV BMW models, the new Nissan Leaf, the Ford Fusion Energi and C-Max Energi. My biggest electric car victory was the sale of a new Fusion Energi. The owner told me he drove 1500 miles on his first tank of gas plus about 6 gallons he added.

I also gained some respect for car salespeople. They're more honest than their reputation. But the customers? They say buyers are liars and it is so true. Oh, I have some stories and they are bitter.

More to come. I promise.

  1. Active keyless entry, where a button has to be pushed, has been around for decades. Passive keyless entry, where you don’t have to push a button to unlock the car, is becoming standard on many higher model cars. Both keyless entry methods are much more convenient for drivers. With embedded chips, they also offer more security than traditional keys, since the chip signature has to be present to start the car.24 hour locksmith las vegas
But that doesn’t mean that they’re entirely secure. There have been many publicized break-ins that seem like they’re being done using keyless entry systems. Here are a few of the possible methods that are being suggested.
